Hawks roll by Dieruff

Bethlehem Catholic had another easy task in last week's 65-21 victory over Dieruff.

The Golden Hawks had 515 yards of offense to help move to 5-0 on the season, as Bethlehem Catholic had six rushing touchdowns, four of which came from Michael McDaniel, to help coast their way through the mid-season point.

With East Stroudsburg North (2-3) coming to town this Saturday night, the Hawks will certainly move themselves to 6-0, as they should go over the 40-point mark for the sixth time this season.

All this may sound redundant for Becahi, who have blown out teams in their past three encounters, but head coach Joe Henrich knows he needs to have his team come prepared every single week.

"I don't think we can take anything for granted because Dieruff moved the ball on us at times," said Henrich related to the Huskies 216 rushing yards last week. "I thought we started playing some backyard football at times and got away from our assignments.."

Most of Becahi's starters were out of the game by the fourth quarter, which has and will probably continue to be a theme for the majority of this regular season.

Both of ESN's wins this year have come against Allen and Pocono Mountain East -- two teams that are a combined 1-9.

Henrich understood coming into the season what type of schedule he had in front of him and is taking the rather easy weeks in stride.

"We had a good idea of what we were going to encounter coming into the year," he said. "This isn't a surprise to us, but our goal has been to prepare the same way every week and try to play as perfect as possible.

"I know that's not possible, but that's what we have to strive for. We came into this season hoping to play more than 10 games and in order to do that, you have to have the same approach every week."
