Emmaus High School encourages understanding and acceptance

Last week, No Place for Hate-Anti-Defamation League presented a guest speaker for ninth and 10th grade students.

Dr. Michael Fowlin, or "Dr. Mikey," presented his 75-minute show "You Don't Know Me Until You Know Me," in which he portrayed various characters who struggled with a magnitude of problems, from personal identity to sexuality to suicide. His speech encourages students to be understanding and accepting of all people, while still maintaining a lighthearted atmosphere when he cracks jokes.

The Emmaus Key Club has begun hosting the Yuda Bands service project for two weeks. The Yuda Bands organization raises money to fund secondary education for children in Guatemala. Key Club members will be selling coconut and leather bracelets in all lunches. All proceeds will go to the Yuda Band Organization.
