Lester E. Smith, 74, of Coplay, died Sept. 21, 2014, in the Inpatient Hospice Unit at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Allentown.

He was the husband of the late Gloria A. (Traugher) Smith.

Born Feb. 18, 1940, in Andreas, he was the son of the late Alton R. and Irma S. (Gracely) Smith.

He faithfully and honorably served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps during a peacetime era.

He was a truck driver for various trucking companies for many years before retiring.

His survivors include children Nancy J. Sherman and her husband, Frank, of Northampton, Cindy L. Kern of Slatington, Connie J. Lindsey and her husband, Garry, of Whitehall, Scott E. Smith of Coplay; brother Curtis O. and his wife, Margie, of Whitehall; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and companion of 10 years, Dottie Miller, of Easton.

He was predeceased by brothers Leonard, Arthur and Kenneth.

Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Sept. 26, in Heintzelman Funeral Home Inc., 4906 Route 309, Schnecksville, with the Rev. Daniel E. Lundmark officiating.

Family and friends may pay their respects 12:30-1:30 p.m. Friday in the funeral home.

Interment with military honors will be at St. Peter's Cemetery, (Seemsville) Northampton.
