Catasauqua Presbyterian Church, Second and Pine streets, marks 175 years this year.

It will celebrate with an organ recital in the Sanctuary Sunday, Sept. 28, with guest organist John Richardson, director of traditional music and principal organist for the First Presbyterian Church of Allentown. The concert will begin at 4 p.m. followed by light refreshments.

The Catasauqua Garden Club will meet Wednesday, Oct. 1. Presenter Becky Short, a master gardener, has visited the club on several occasions with her always entertaining and enlightening discussions about herbs. This time she will talk about "herbal adventures."

The meeting starts at 1 p.m. in the Slovak Center Social Club, 1233 Fifth St., North Catty. Members should have entries in place early. Garden friendly visitors always welcome.

The Catasauqua American Legion, 330 Second St., will be having an end of summer picnic/bash 4-8 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 27. Doors will open at 3:30 p.m. Refreshments include hot dogs, burgers, barbecue chicken salads, soda and beer. It will also include a deejay and games. Call 610-266-6160 for more information.

The legion will also be holding an all-you-can-eat breakfast on 8 a.m.-noon Sunday, Sept. 28.

Catasauqua Thrift Shop, 113 Bridge St., reopened in the last week after a housecleaning and changing over to fall and winter fashions.

Stop in and see the new selections. Store hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, and 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday and Saturday.

Donations of good, used clothing are appreciated.

The Fifth Annual Catasauqua Fire Police Car Show will take place 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 27, at the Catasauqua Park.
