New Cedarbrook administrator approved

Terry Hollinger has been appointed to serve as administrator of Cedarbrook Nursing Home.

The Lehigh County Board of Commissioners unanimously approved Hollinger at its Sept. 11 meeting.

He will be paid by L.W. Consulting, Harrisburg, the company that has been managing Cedarbrook for the past 10 years.

Commissioner Brad Osborne said Hollinger is well qualified for the position.

"The appointment of Terry Hollinger was based on his personal resume and ability to address our concerns with some degree of specificity and optimism," Osborne said.

Hollinger has worked in the health care industry for 38 years and holds an MBA and a bachelor's degree in nursing. He is also a registered nurse.

In other business, the commissioners are confident the opening of the PPL Center in downtown Allentown will not hamper attendance at the commissioners meetings.

According to county Director of General Services Rick Molchany, no conflicts currently exist between planned events at the PPL Center and scheduled commissioners meetings.

Molchany noted if conflicts do exist, meetings may be rescheduled.

He also said the county has plans to utilize its parking deck for event parking to generate additional revenue.

"Parking will be at a premium," he said.
