Dr. Leo J. Hastings, Jr. 89, of Allentown, died Sept. 11, 2014, in Fellowship Manor, Whitehall.

He was the husband of the late Frances T. (Marczyk) Hastings.

Born February 20, 1925, in Annville, he was the son of the late Leo J. Sr. and Frances N. (Whiskeyman) Hastings.

He faithfully and honorably served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

A graduate of Villanova University and Thomas Jefferson Medical College, he worked in private practice for many years and was affiliated with Sacred Heart Hospital, Allentown.

He was a member of the Lehigh County Medical Society and St. Joseph the Worker Roman Catholic Church, Orefield.

His survivors include children Frances H., wife of Joseph P. Polaha, with whom he resided, Susan A., wife of Alan A. Blose of Atlanta, Ga., Leo J. III and his wife, Cary, of Hampstead, Md., Valerie A. Clifton of Crozet, Va., Mary K., wife of Bret E. Berlinger, of Doylestown; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by siblings Charles , Frances Morris and Mary Emma Doernbach.
