Donald L. Sheaffer, 86, of Walnutport, formerly of Harrisburg, died Sept. 14, 2014, in the Hospice House of the VNA of St. Luke's, Lower Saucon Township.
He was the husband of the late Joanne K. (Peirsol) Sheaffer.
Born Sept. 20, 1927, in Harrisburg, Dauphin County, he was the son of the late Robert and Ada E. (Campbell) Sheaffer.
He faithfully and honorably served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II.
He was a sales representative at the former Hercules Cement Co., Stockertown, for 30 years before retiring in 1990.
Prior to that, he was a draftsman for the former Michael Baker Co., Harrisburg, for several years.
He was a former member of the Upper Lehigh Lions Club, Schnecksville.
His survivors include children Patricia A. Arbitell of West Trenton, N.J., Donald L. II and his wife, Deborah, of East Berlin, Diane L. Kelchner and her husband, Warren, of Brodheadsville; grandchildren Jamie, Ryan, Jennifer, Peter, Katie, Stephanie and Lauren; and great-grandchildren, Anna, Avery, Alivia and Rylee.
He was predeceased by a son, Scott P.
A private memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family.
