Local resident on honors list

Andrew Mark of Whitehall,was named to the graduate dean's distinguished honor list for the spring 2014 semester.

Students named to the list have achieved a grade-point average that places them in the top 10 percent of their program area. Mark is a 2007 graduate of Whitehall High School and is currently working toward a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing. He is the son of Michael and Jodi Mark.

David Gilio of Bath was named to the dean's list for the spring 2014 semester.

Gilio is a doctor of physical therapy student.

Paul Hanna, Yvonne Labram and Kimmarie Huynh, all of Whitehall, were named to the dean's list for the spring 2014 semester.

All are doctor of pharmacy students.

Angela Krutsick, of Coplay, was named to the dean's list for the 2014 spring semester. She is a doctor of pharmacy student.

Kristy George, of Whitehall, was named to the dean's list for the spring 2014 semester. She is a master of occupational therapy student.

Local resident inducted

Alyssa Cardillo of Bath was inducted into the Eta Sigma Phi Classica and Ancient Mediterranean Studies Honor Society and Pi Sigma Alpha Political Science Honor Society at Bucknell University.

She is the daughter of James and Lori Cardillo and a graduate of Bethlehem Catholic High School.

Whitehall resident recognized

Megan Berner of Whitehall was among the 623 Lebanon Valley College students named to the dean's list for the spring 2014 semester.

Dean's list students must maintain a grade-point average of at least 3.4 out of 4.0.

Berner, a graduate of Whitehall High School, made the list while pursuing a degree in actuarial science. She was also among a group of six students recognized for completing the Lebanon Valley College's Leadership Institute.

Local student welcomed

Devin Flores of Catasauqua is one of 565 incoming students at Wilkes University.

Flores attended a summer orientation session July 13-14. During the two-day session he met classmates and student mentors, toured the residence halls and university campus, attended information sessions, enjoyed a picnic on the campus greenway and explored the larger community through volunteer service projects.

Local resident named to dean's list

Brian J. Foster, of Northampton, was named to the University of Rhode Island's dean's list for the spring 2014 semester. To be named to the dean's list a student must have a 3.30 grade point average or higher. Foster is pursuing a Doctorate of Pharmacy at the university and is a 2013 graduate of Allentown Central Catholic.

Northampton resident receives scholarship

Victoria Hinman, a 2009 graduate of Northampton Area High School, received $2,000 to attend Cedar Crest College from Earl and Mary Redner and Garwy W. Redner Scholarship Fund administed by Berkks County Community Foundation.
