LEHIGH VALLEY WEATHER

A global, miracle match

The Taney Dragons may be Philadelphia's sweetheart in baseball, but here in the Lehigh Valley we have the Miracle League, where every child has the opportunity to hit, score, and win. The children who make up the Miracle League are special needs children or children with developmental disabilities. The league provides them with the opportunity to play baseball. There were approximately 70 children involved this year.

Helping the children were interns from the Lehigh University Global Village program. The group consisted of 89 students from around the world. The students participated in a five-week intensive program preparing them to be future business leaders with the goal being to succeed in the international market.

The students from Lehigh represented 42 countries with a flag procession around the perimeter of the Miracle League baseball field prior to the start of the game.

Put those two groups together and you have a recipe for sweet success.
