SALISBURY HAPPENINGS Auditions for fall production Sept. 17
Editor's Note: The Press welcomes Samantha Perkins as the new Salisbury High School columnist. Perkins is a junior who plays tennis. She is a member of Student Government Association, Class of 2016 Advisory, treasurer of Literary Club, member of German Club and a member of Students Against Destructive Driving.
Good luck to all students who audition for the annual Salisbury High School fall play. Auditions will be held Sept. 17. Callbacks will be held 7:30 to 10 p.m. Sept. 18. The play to be performed this fall is "Alice(s) in Wonderland" and will be performed Nov. 13 through 16.
There will be an early dismissal for all schools in the district Sept. 19.
Salisbury Middle School and SHS will be dismissed 12:15 p.m. and Harry S Truman and Western Salisbury Elementary schools will be dismissed 1 p.m.
SHS's Picture Day will be Sept. 23 and mid-marking for the first quarter is Sept. 26.
Reminder to all SHS students to pay their class dues. They are $25 per year. Contact your class advisor with any questions.
The varsity boys football team is away at Bangor 7 p.m. Sept. 19, but will be back on home turf 7 p.m. Sept. 26 versus Pen Argyl. Come out and support the boys. Go Falcons!
The PSATs will be held 7:30 to 11:30 a.m. at SHS Oct. 15. All juniors will take the test at no cost. There is a fee for interested sophomores to take the test and will be reserved on a first-come, first-serve basis. German high school students will be visiting Salisbury Oct. 16 through Nov. 1 through the German American Partnership Program. These students will be staying with SHS students while they are in the area and will be attending classes with them. Details about community and school events to welcome and get to know the German students will be disclosed at a later date.
