After a 2-1 loss to East Stroudsburg North last week, and a record of 1-5 as of Press deadlines, Bethlehem Catholic's girls soccer team is planning on making some adjustments for future matches.
In the game against the Timberwolves last Thursday, Becahi forward, Dana Neupauer, scored the Hawks' only goal, tying the score at 1-1.
Neupauer said, "The ball was on defense near our goal. We got it to the midfield, and one of our center mids, Rachel Wills, took a big kick. I dribbled down the left side and shot from a left angle, and it went over the goalie's head."
Neupauer scored with 27:30 remaining in the first half.
"It hit the goalie's tips of her hands, and it went in. I was so relieved," said Neupauer.
Within the last two minutes of the second period, East Stroudsburg North scored the winning goal.
"I think we should have won. Everyone put in a good effort. We had a lot of close shots at the end," Neupauer said.
In spite of the obvious disappointment, first-year head coach, Rebecca Rivera, was somewhat pleased.
"She was happy with how hard we worked. Right now, we're working on a new formation, and we'll see how that works," said Neupauer. "I'm hoping we can make better connections with each other in passing and possession."
The Hawks' only win was a 7-0 victory over Catasauqua.
