Victor Daniel Hurtado, 21, of Macungie, was taken into custody for allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol and having of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia after he was found in a parked vehicle in the Spring Creek Estate Park parking lot, 6806 Goor St., Lower Macungie Township, 4:18 a.m. Aug. 17. Hurtado was taken to the Lehigh County Central Booking Center.

Luis Alberto Villega-Vargas, 28, of Allentown, was taken into custody for allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol after a two-vehicle traffic accident at the intersection of North Krocks Road and Reppert Lane, Lower Macungie Township, 8:37 p.m. Aug. 15. Charges were filed through District Court 31-3-02.

Heather Ann Simon, reportedly 35 years old, of Lower Macungie Township, was arrested for suspicion of driving while under the influence, possession of drug paraphernalia and recklessly endangering after she allegedly was seen using cocaine in the city of Allentown while a child was in her vehicle. Upon checking on the welfare of Simon and the child at a residence in the 4700 block of Yorkshire Drive, police arrested Simon, 7:32 p.m. Aug. 16. Charges were filed through District Court 31-3-02.

Ramon Antonio Alberto Jr., 34, of Indianapolis, Ind., was arrested and charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana, drug paraphernalia, depositing waste and tampering with physical evidence after he allegedly was seen speeding on Interstate 78 westbound near mile marker 60.0, Upper Saucon Township, 8:57 p.m. Aug. 29. Alberto allegedly threw a plastic bag from the vehicle during his traffic stop. The bag was recovered and found to contain suspected marijuana.

An unamed 28-year-old Emmaus man was taken into custody for driving under the influence of drugs after police received reports of a possibly intoxicated male driving with a child in his vehicle in the parking lot of Wal Mart, 1091 Mill Creek Road, Lower Macungie Township, 4:15 p.m. Aug. 27.

James Andrew Martin, 33, of Lansdale, was arrested for driving under the influence after an alleged traffic stop along Lamour Street, Lower Milford Township, 11:50 p.m. Aug. 27. Charges were filed in District Court 31-3-03.

A 17-year-old male, of Zionsville, was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence after a one-vehicle accident along Beck Road, Upper Milford Township, 11:25 p.m. Aug. 31. The teen was southbound when he missed a curve and struck a rock on the right shoulder of the road. According to police, the teen admitted to ingesting marijuana.

Anthony Michael Keller, 21, of Emmaus, was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence after a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia allegedly were found on him at a traffic accident scene at the intersection of South Cedar Crest Boulevard and Minesite Road, Lower Macungie Township, 3:08 a.m. Sept. 2. State Police were investigating a traffic scene when a vehicle allegedly driven by Keller stopped at the scene. Charges were filed with District Court 31-3-02.

A 17-year-old male is to be charged with driving under the influence after a one-vehicle traffic accident on Ruth Road near Smith Lane, Lower Macungie Township, 11:15 p.m. Aug. 22. According to police, the vehicle driven by the teen was traveling northeast on Ruth Road when the vehicle left the road, struck a small ditch and rolled onto its roof. A 15-year-old female who was in the vehicle is to be charged with underage drinking.

Michael T. Emerick, 50, of Allentown, was charged with driving under the influence after a two-vehicle accident on Cedar Crest Boulvevard at Minesite Road, Lower Macungie Township, 9:26 p.m. July 31. Emerick allegedly was northbound on Cedar Crest Boulevard, attempted to turn left onto Minesite Road and struck a southbound vehicle. A 50-year-old man, of Allentown, who was operating the second vehicle was injured in the accident. Charges were filed in District Court 31-2-03.
