Berklee College of Music, Boston, Mass., announced Arthur Terembula III of New Tripoli earned dean's list for the 2013 fall semester.

To be eligible for this honor, a full-time student must achieve a grade-point average of 3.4 or above.

The following students earned their Master's degrees from Kutztown University, Kutztown, in January: Manikandan Gurusankar of Brein-igsville, Master of Science in computer science, information technology, and Carley E Schopf of Breinigsville, Master's of Education degree in secondary education, curriculum and instruction.

Cesily Carolyn Gensits of New Tripoli, received an academic scholarship from Lebanon Valley College.

Gensits, intending to pursue a major in psychology, was admitted to the fall 2014 semester.

Student named

to dean's list

Jessica Leiby, a 2013 Parkland graduate, was named to the 2014 spring dean's list at Stevens Institute of Technology, Hoboken, N.J.

Leiby is majoring in naval engineering.

She is the daughter of Paul and Chris Leiby.

Phi Kappa Phi honor society has announced Kelsey Shaulis of Allentown was initiated into Phi Kappa Phi, the nation's oldest and most selective collegiate honor society for all academic disciplines.

Shaulis was initiated at Indiana University of Pennsylvania.

Shaulis is among approximately 32,000 students, faculty, professional staff and alumni to be initiated into Phi Kappa Phi each year. Membership is by invitation and requires nomination and approval by a chapter. Only the top 10 percent of seniors and 7.5 percent of juniors, having at least 72 semester hours, are eligible for membership.

Graduate students in the top 10 percent of the number of candidates for graduate degrees may also qualify, as do faculty, professional staff, and alumni who have achieved scholarly distinction.

Casey Trexler graduated May 17 from Grove City College, Grove City, near Pittsburgh.

Casey earned a Bachelor of Science degree in biology.

A 2010 graduate of Kutztown Area High School, she is the daughter of Brian and Kimberly Trexler of Kempton.

Taylor Hill of Laurys Station, a sophomore audiology major, with minors in linguistics and sign language, was named to the spring 2014 dean's list at the University of Pittsburgh's Dietrich School of Arts and Sciences, Pittsburgh.

Students are named to the dean's list if they have achieve a grade-point average of 3.5 or higher.

A 2012 Parkland High School graduate, she is the daughter of Jay and Tammy Hill.

Sarah Dougherty was named to the fall 2013 and spring 2014 dean's lists at Alabama University, Tuscaloosa, Ala.

Dougherty is a sophomore, double major in public relations and Spanish.

A 2013 graduate of Parkland High School, she is the daughter of Ed and Nancy Dougherty of Upper Macungie Township.
