Police called to Giant

Police responded to a reported 911 hang-up call at Giant Food Store, Chestnut and Cherry streets, Aug. 30.

On arrival, patrol officers found the phone receiver in the lobby off the hook and no one around, police said.

Police checked the store and found everything in order.

Resident misdials phone

A report of a 911 hang-up at a residence in the unit block of South Second Street brought out police Aug. 29.

Patrol officers were told the occupant misdialed his phone and everything was fine, police said.

Noise complaint reported

Police received a noise complaint from a resident in the unit block of South Fourth Street at 9:32 p.m. Aug. 25.

The caller stated his neighbor was using a power washer, police said. However, officers arrived and found no one using a power washer.
