Bethlehem Area School District's Education Center' walls have been brightened by the efforts of students throughout the district's elementary, middle and high schools. Mosaics created using a variety of materials have been permanently installed and BASD Superintendent Dr. Joseph Roy considers the work to be of "amazing quality."

"I love it because I get to enjoy it everyday," said Roy at a June unveiling where he also noted the importance of public school art.

Nitschmann MS art teacher Barbara Kozero spearheaded the project, which was supported by a grant from the Bethlehem Area Education Foundation, six pallets of tile from Garden State Tile, and received assistance from Lehigh University's art gallery with labels.

"They have the wall space and we have talent," explained Kozero, who said students at Liberty and Freedom high schools, Nitschmann and Northeast middle schools, and Spring Garden, Miller Heights, William Penn and Governor Wolf elementary schools participated in the project.

Installation of fourteen mosaics using an assortment of materials was done by BASD maintenance staff according to Roy.
