Anna Yarema Maslany, seamstress

Anna Yarema Maslany, 86, of Bethlehem, died after a lengthy illness on Aug. 24, 2014. Born in Allentown, she was a daughter of the late Thomas and Annie (Hanas) Yarema, both of the Ukraine. She was the wife of the late Joseph Maslany.

She attended Allentown High School.

She was a member of Notre Dame of Bethlehem Church.

She worked at sewing factories, at Levine's Fabrics, and sewed the samples for designer Stephen Burrows.

She won several ribbons for her sewing at the Allentown Fair.

She is survived by a son, Thomas and his wife Candace of Perkiomenville; a daughter, JoAnne and her husband Mark Westerhaus of State College; a daughter, Tammy Chamberlin and her fiancé Harry Griffith Jr. of Bethlehem; an honorary daughter, Leigh Price of Bethlehem; four grandchildren, Jeffrey Maslany, Kathy Buehler, Kendra Westerhaus Santee and Briton Westerhaus; and two great-grandchildren, Ricky and Miranda Buehler.

She was predeceased by two brothers, Stephen and Tarras Yarema.

Contributions may be made to the church, 1861 Catasauqua Road, Bethlehem, PA 18018 and/or Holy Family Manor, 1200 Spring St., Bethlehem, PA 18018.

Arrangements were made by Connell Funeral Home Inc., Bethlehem.
