SMS will hold its first dance of the year 7 to 9 p.m. Sept. 12. This is a big deal to all sixth graders who are looking forward to the social aspects of middle school.
Do you remember your first dance? I went to a school that didn't hold dances. So, I slept over at a friend's house who went to East Penn School District and went to a dance with her. Even though I didn't know a single soul there except my friend, I had the time of my life. Did I mention I did all of this without my parent's knowledge? Who knows, maybe that is why it was so much fun!
SMS has already sent home the first fundraiser of the year. They are selling Kidstuff coupon books. If you no longer have a student in the middle school and would like to purchase a book, just call the middle school and I'm sure they will secure a book for you.
There is an operations committee meeting 7 p.m. Sept. 8 and a school board meeting 7:30 p.m. Sept. 17 both at the administration building.
The curriculum committee meeting scheduled for Sept. 15 has been cancelled.
Jerusalem Western Salisbury Church will resume community breakfasts. The first one of the fall will be held 8 to 11 a.m. Sept. 13. A donation is accepted and all proceeds benefit the 275th anniversary committee.
The Devonshire yard waste drop off will be open 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sept. 6 and 16.
