James A. Althouse, 86, of Emmaus, died Aug. 29, 2014, at Lehigh Center, Macungie. He was the husband of Nancy J. (Wirth) Althouse. Born in Bethlehem, he was the son of the late Daniel and Pearl M. (Sigley) Althouse.

He was employed as an assembler for 22 years at Allentown Brake and Wheel until retiring.

He was a U.S. Army veteran who served during peacetime.

He is survived by his wife; brother, Gerald and his wife Barbara, of Granbury, Texas; nieces and a nephew.
