Tennis wins two matches

Whitehall's tennis team won two matches, knocking off Pocono Mountain East 5-2 and Tamaqua 4-1.

Number-one singles player Eiman Nazif won both of her matches defeating PME's Mindy Rinker 6-3, 6-2 and the Raiders Maddie Davis 6-2, 6-1.

Christina Endy at number-two singles split her matches, falling to PME's Camille Famularo in three sets, 1-6, 6-4, 4-6. Emily Yenser at number-three singles also split, beating PME's Julie Lynch 6-2, 6-0 and falling to Tamaqua's Allison Pederson 6-1, 6-4.

Shadimon Navarro and Celine Asmar, along with Amanda Endy and Samantha Nina, both came away with two doubles victories in the matches. Navarro and Asmar, the numbe-two team, won in three sets over PME 5-7, 6-4 and 6-2 and also beat Tamaqua 6-4, 6-0. Meanwhile, Endy and Nino won their first set vs. PME 6-3 before winning on injury default in the second set. The duo won a 6-2, 7-6 (7-4) match against the Raiders.

Against Pocono, the number-four doubles team of Kali Bartynski and Nicole Peluso won 7-5, 6-4.
