Car goes airborne;
hits sign
State Police Troop M Bethlehem report a tire failed on a 2005 Hyundai driven by Douglas Lloyd, 79, along Sand Spring Road, just east of Park View Drive, at 10:55 a.m. Aug. 6.
Police say Lloyd lost control of the car, which crossed over the right shoulder where the front left bumper struck a tree.
After impact, the car became airborne and hit the Sand Spring apartments brick and wooden sign.
The car came to a final rest on its roof facing west on a grass embankment.
Lloyd and his passenger, Jacqueline E. Lloyd, 75, were extricated by Schnecksville and Neffs fire crews.
They were transported to Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township, by Northern Valley EMS.
The car was removed by Ironton Towing.
Brick hits

State Police Troop M Bethlehem say a brick was ejected from the rear of a vehicle traveling southbound on Route 309 at 11:35 a.m. Aug. 5.
The unsecured brick struck the windshield of a northbound 2011 Nissan Maxima driven by James N. Averill of Schnecksville.
The unidentified vehicle continued southbound on Route 309.
No injuries were reported and Averill's car remained operable.
Dorney Park passes
stolen from vehicle
State PoliceTroop M Bethlehem report items were stolen sometime between 10:30 p.m. Aug. 9 and 11 a.m. the next day from a vehicle belonging to Quinn Rachel Pissani of Laurys Station.
The vehicle was parked along the 5700 block of Nottingham Court, North Whitehall, near Pissani's home.
Police say $15 was taken from her wallet and four Dorney Park day passes, valued at $55 each, were removed from the vehicle.
