JULY 11
· Officers responded to a report of a theft in the 6300 block of Stonepost Road, East Allen Township. Police said a Bethlehem resident reported someone removed two large 12-foot pieces of titanium, which were shaped like cylinders. The thieves also removed two pieces of 6AL-4VELI titanium, which is square shaped. Also stolen were several items of office furniture from an abandoned school bus owned by the victim.
JULY 12
· A report of retail theft summoned police to Sams Club, 901 Airport Center Drive, Hanover Township, Lehigh County. According to police, two suspects entered the store and put a television in their cart. One suspect distracted employees while the other left the store. The suspects then fled in an unknown direction.
JULY 19
· Officers were called to Nor-Bath Boulevard approximately two miles east of Commerce Drive to investigate a motor vehicle crash. According to police, Arthur L. Benson II, 28, was operating a 2004 Mercury Grand Marquis when the vehicle impacted the metal guardrail on the northern shoulder of the roadway. The vehicle then swerved back into the lane of travel before hitting the guardrail a second time. After the second impact, the vehicle crossed into the oncoming lane of travel and struck the concrete longitudinal bridge barrier on the sourthern shoulder of the roadway. The fuel tank for the vehicle ruptured and a fire started inside the vehicle, which came to a final rest in the eastbound lane of travel on Route 329. Police said Benson exited the vehicle as it became fully engulfed in fire. The vehicle was disabled and Benson sustained a major injury due to burns. Benson showed signs of alcohol impairment and was transported to Cedar Crest Hospital, via EMS, for medical treatment and legal blood draw, police said.
JULY 23
· A report of criminal mischief summoned police to the 8600 block of Seemsville Road, East Allen Township. Someone shot paintballs at the victim's residence leaving paint marks, but no damage, police said.
JULY 26
· Officers responded to a report of a theft from a motor vehicle in the 300 block of McNair Drive, Allen Township. Michael Joseph Salabasky, 48, of Northampton, reported that someone opened his car door and stole five winning lottery tickets, police said.
JULY 29
· Police were called to the 2000 block of Troxell Street, Hanover Township, Lehigh County, to investigate a report of a theft from a motor vehicle. Two residents, ages 69 and 35, discovered someone had gone through their vehicles while they were parked in front of their residences, police said.
JULY 31
· Officers responded to a motor vehicle crash on Route 22 westbound in the area of MacArthur Road. According to police, Jose Padilla Leonardo II, 20, of Coplay, was operating a 2001 Chevrolet Cavalier and crossed into the right lane of traffic. The vehicle then went onto the shoulder where a collision occurred with the passenger side of the vehicle and a guard rail. After the collision the vehicle came to a final rest on the right shoulder of Route 22. Police records indicate Leonardo was placed under arrest for suspicion of DUI.
AUGUST 3
· Police responded to a report of criminal mischief in the 6200 block of Hanover Street, East Allen Township where someone struck a 2003 Chrysler Sebring with an unknown object, damaging the paint on the hood.
