Lost and found
Reported by Lower Macungie Library, 3450 Brookside Road, Lower Macungie Township, 12:42 p.m. Aug. 14, a green Kensington FS Sport Recreation Series women's bicycle, with serial number 168589095913F0806, was left in front of the library for approximately two weeks. The bicycle is described as in poor condition with visible rust throughout the wheels and frame. Anyone with information as to the owner of the bicycle may contact Pennsylvania State Police at 610-395-1438.
Burglary
Reported in the 1800 block of Brookhaven Drive East, Lower Macungie Township, unknown actors entered a garage and took a black Trek-8500 Project 1 mountain bike and a black and yellow Trek mountain bike from a rack in the garage between 7 p.m. Aug. 12 and 7 a.m. Aug. 13. The actors then fled the scene. The bicycles are valued at $4,800. The investigation is continuing. Anyone with information may contact Pennsylvania State Police at 610-395-1438.
Assault
Keith David Staines, 40, of Macungie, was charged with assault-terroristic threats after he allegedly pointed an unloaded revolver at a 27-year-old female and pulled the trigger in the 5600 block of Indian Creek Road, Lower Macungie Township, 11:25 p.m. Aug. 12. Charges were filed in District Court 31-3-02.
Theft from a motor vehicle
Reported in the 1900 block of Brookhaven Drive West, Lower Macungie Township, between 10:30 a.m. Aug. 12 and 6:30 a.m. Aug. 13, unknown actors entered an unlocked vehicle and removed a pink iPod Nano MP3 player. The investigation is continuing. Anyone with information may contact Pennsylvania State Police at 610-395-1438.
Reported by a resident in the 2100 block of Cross Creek Road, Lower Macungie Township, unknown actors took several items from an unlocked vehicle between 8:30 p.m. Aug. 13 and 7:30 a.m. Aug. 14. The investigation continues.
Theft
Lyn Frontino, 58, of Allentown, was charged with theft by unlawful taking after she allegedly took several pieces of jewelry from a residence in the 6000 block of Club House Lane, Lower Macungie Township, in July. A resident reported the items missing July 31. Frontino allegedly took the jewelry while she was watching the resident's dog while the resident was on vacation. The jewelry was valued at approximately $650. Charges were filed in District Court 31-3-02.
Fugitive from
justice
Kyle Justin Wenner, 25, of Emmaus, was taken into custody on a warrant from Worcester County, Md., 4:20 p.m. Aug. 17. He was placed in Lehigh County Prison awaiting extradition.
Harassment
Reported by a resident in the 7500 block of Salem Bible Church Road, Zionsville, unknown actors made numerous unwanted phone calls to the residence between April 14 and July 30.
DUI
Fidelio Santana-Lopez, 58, of Reading, was taken into custody for driving under the influence after he allegedly was seen operating a gold Nissan Altima passenger car southbound on Route 100 at Spring Creek Road, Lower Macungie Township, 6:37 p.m. Aug. 14. Witnesses reported seeing the vehicle Santana-Lopez allegedly was driving weaving, stopping and eventually entering the oncoming travel lane after exiting the highway. The vehicle was seen westbound on Quarry Road and again entered lanes for oncoming traffic. The vehicle turned off the road and went through a field, damaging crops. Police stopped the vehicle at Lower Macungie Road at Hamilton Boulevard. Santana-Lopez allegedly had numerous empty beer and liquor containers strewn about the vehicle. He was transported to the Lehigh County Central Booking Center.
Jose Chauca-Suarez, 29, of Allentown, was arrested for driving under the influence after a traffic stop on Trexlertown Road at Spring Creek Road, Lower Macungie Township, 12:53 a.m. Aug. 15. Chauca-Suarez allegedly showed signs of intoxication during the traffic stop. He was transported to Lehigh County Central Booking Center.
Victor Hurtado, 21, of Macungie, was arrested for driving under the influence after police responded to reports of a vehicle parked, its engine running, at Danner Road and Goor Street, Lower Macungie Township, 4:18 a.m. Aug. 17. Hurtado allegedly was the driver of the vehicle and showed signs of impairment at the scene. Hurtado was transported to the Lehigh County Central Booking Center.
Criminal mischief
Reported by a resident in the 2500 block of Saddlebrook Road, Lower Macungie Township, unknown actors put different types of food in a mailbox between 6:30 p.m. Aug. 13 and 7 a.m. Aug. 14.
Reported at Yocco's Restaurant, 4042 Chestnut Street, Upper Milford Township, a 16-year-old male, of Emmaus, struck and cracked a glass window 8:40 p.m. Aug. 22. The male left the business without leaving any information to pay for the damaged window. A citation was filed through District Couty 31-2-03.
