Luther Crest retirement community is presenting a free, public seminar to help residents avoid scams, fraud and identity theft.

The seminar, by South Whitehall Police Officers Stephen Brown and Jeff Natysyn, will be presented 6:30 p.m. Aug. 27 at Luther Crest, 800 Hausman Road.

The officers will provide tips on how to avoid becoming a victim of fraud, including the warning signs of potential scams, steps to protect oneself from identity theft, and how and when to report suspected fraud.
