The Coplay Public Library is closed on Monday, Sept. 1, for Labor Day.

Regular hours resume Sept. 2. The hours starting Sept. 2 are 10 a.m.-7 p.m.: Monday through Thursday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday.

September is National Library Card Sign-up Month. Borough residents are encouraged to come in and sign up for a card. All that is required is proof of address.

Upcoming events at the library include the following:

· Saturday, Sept. 6 – Trivia Saturday, noon-3 p.m.

· Tuesday, Sept. 9 – Storytime, 11 a.m. All ages welcome.

· Thursday, Sept. 11 – Open house, 3-7 p.m. Refreshment will be available.

· Saturday, Sept. 20 – Storytime, 11 a.m. All ages welcome.

· Monday, Sept. 29 – Scrabble Night, 5-7 p.m.

Donations are being accepted for the book sale set for Oct. 3 and 4. Items in good condition are welcome. VHS tapes and textbooks will not be accepted.

The library is having a contest for the month of September. Each open day, the library will post a quote on our Twitter, Facebook and website pages. The first person to come into the library that day and tell us the quote will receive a coupon for one free regularly priced book at the book sale.

The library also wishes to thank all the volunteers who helped with the Fun Fest and Coplay Community Days. All the help is appreciated.
