Police responding to a report of an injured woman on Hellertown Road Aug. 12 later intervened during her husband's alleged suicide attempt.
The woman said she's been assaulted by her husband, who threatened her and threw her from the car. Their 3-year-old son remained in the car when he drove off. Shoretly thereafter, police recieved a 911 call reporting a man and child on the seventh floor of the Sands Casino Parking Garage.
Responding officers convinced the leave the unharmed child safely on the roof and then tackled him when he tried to jump.
The mother and child were reunited and the husband was admitted to St. Luke's University Hospital for a mental health evaluation.
