Mustang overturns
in Weis parking lot
State Police Troop M of Bethlehem report a 16-year-old Allentown boy was driving a 1986 Ford Mustang south out of the McDonald's parking lot heading east toward Route 873, Schnecksville, when he apparently accelerated and lost control of the car 8 p.m. July 24.
Police say the car struck the curb on the right side of the traffic way, then a traffic sign in the grass above the curb and continued heading east.
The car rolled clockwise onto its roof before coming to a final rest in the parking lot of the Weis gas station facing north.
His passenger, a 17-year-old Allentown girl, was transported by NOVA Ambulance Corps to Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township.
According to police, the teen was charged with careless driving.
