JUNE 21
· Officers responded to a report of an escape in the 600 block of Hamilton Street, Bethlehem. According to police records, Adam Peter Wachnik, 27, of Saylorsburg, failed to return to the Allentown Community Corrections Center. Anyone with information on his location is asked to contact the state police at 610-861-2026.
JUNE 22
· Police responded to a report of a crash involving a Toyota Cruiser in East Allen Township. The car was parked on the side of Locust Road, facing west, when the front right tire fell into a ditch located on the side of the road, according to police reports.
· A report of a theft from a motor vehicle summoned officers to the Staybridge Suites, 1781A Airport Road, Hanover Township, Lehigh County. Police said the passenger window of the vehicle was broken and a backpack was stolen. Anyone with information is asked to contact the state police at 610-861-2026.
JULY 1
· Officers responded to a report of a theft that occurred in the 7000 block of Copenhagen Court, East Allen Township. A resident reported a tablet and game controllers were stolen from his home.
JULY 6
· A report of criminal mischief summoned police to the 5400 block of Monocacy Drive, East Allen Township. Police said unknown actors broke solar powered patio lights belonging to a resident.
JULY 10
· Officers investigated a report of criminal mischief in the 5700 block of Colony Drive, East Allen Township. The incident occurred when unknown actors shot a single paintball at the victim's house.
JULY 13
· Police responded to a report of a theft in the 400 block of Nor-Bath Boulevard, Allen Township. Police records indicate a 23-year-old Walnutport resident reached over the counter on three separate occasions. The suspect stole approximately five lottery tickets for a total value of $80 when the employee was not looking. William P. Paukovits III has been charged with theft and receiving stolen property.
JULY 14
· Police were called to Route 22 near Route 145 to investigate a motor vehicle crash. It occurred when a 2013 Chevrolet Malibu was merging onto Route 22 East and a 2014 Freightliner was traveling on Route 22 East in the right hand lane. The Freightliner was stopped for heavy traffic and the Chevy failed to properly merge and impacted the right front passenger side of the Freightliner, where it remained at final rest. Both vehicles had functional damage, according to police.
JULY 15
· Police records indicate a crash occurred at the intersection of Airport and Catasauqua roads, Hanover Township, Lehigh County. A 2007 Toyota Corolla, driven by Thomas J. Keefe, was making a left turn through a steady green light at the intersection when a Jaguar continued through the intersection at the same time, striking the left rear quarter panel with the front left bumper. The Jaguar then fled north on Airport Road, police said.
JULY 17
· Officers investigated a crash on Weaversville Road, East Allen Township. As a 2008 Mitsubishi Eclipse was negotiating a left curve the juvenile operator lost control and veered off into the side of the roadway, hitting a residential mail box and coming to a final rest as it collided with a utility pole. According to police, the juvenile was not injured.
· Police were called to the Days Inn, 3400 Airport Road, Hanover Township, Lehigh County, to investigate a report of a theft from a motor vehicle. Two vehicles were entered, one by the way of smashing the window. Miscellaneous tools were taken from both vehicles, police said.
JULY 19
· A report of theft by unlawful taking summoned officers to Country Club Road, Allen Township. Police reports say unknown suspects stole a painted 3-foot-high cement duck from a front yard.
JULY 20
· Officers were called to Route 22 westbound just off Airport Road to investigate a motor vehicle crash. A 2002 Volkswagen Jetta, operated by Peter M. Detwiler, was driving in the right lane and failed to slow for traffic stopped in front of him. To avoid a collision he applied his brakes and swerved right, entering the grass covered roadside. The Jetta suffered disabling damage to the left front tire and the left side of the vehicle. It was towed from the scene. There were no injuries, according to police records.
JULY 22
· Police responded to a report of a theft in the 1800 block of Steelstone Road, Hanover Township, Lehigh County. Police records indicate that Lora Naghshineh, of Allentown, left her cell phone on top of her car in a parking lot and an unknown actor removed the phone and fled in an unknown direction.
· A report of a motor vehicle crash brought officers to East Bullshead Road. The crash occurred as a 2009 Hyundai Elantra traveled off the right side of the road and sideswiped a speed limit sign with the passenger side front portion of the vehicle. The operator, unnamed in police records, said a black pick-up truck swerved into the middle of the roadway and, to avoid the collision, the operator swerved to the right.
JULY 23
· A report of criminal mischief summoned officers to North Halbea Street, East Allen Township. According to police, unknown actors shot two houses with paintballs and then fled.
· Police were called to the 8000 block of Valley View Road, East Allen Township, to investigate a report of criminal mischief. The window shutter, front door and siding of a house was shot with four paintballs.
JULY 26
· Police were called to Route 512 to investigate a motor vehicle crash. According to police records, the incident occurred when a 1998 Toyota Camry was unable to stop and struck the rear bumper of a 2006 Acura MDX. Both vehicles had minor damage and both operators were unharmed.
· Officers were called to Target, 912 Airport Center Drive, to investigate a report of retail theft. According to police records, an Allentown resident attempted to leave the store without paying for several items in a cart. When stopped by Target Loss Prevention, the accused resisted, but was taken into custody.
