Several resignations, retirements and hires were approved by a unanimous 9-0 vote July 28 by the Northampton Area School Board. They are as follows:

· Resignation of Jill Barron, special education teacher, Northampton Area High School, and assistant coach, boys and girls track, effective July 28. It was stated Barron is moving out of state.

· Resignation of Edwina Vlossak, special education instructional assistant, for retirement, effective Aug. 8;

· Resignation of Jayne Hartzog, instructional technology specialist, for retirement, effective Feb. 6, 2015;

· Hiring of Jessica Finlayson, mathematics teacher, Northampton Area Middle School, effective Aug. 18, for the first semester of the 2014-15 school year, at a salary of $46,050, prorated, without benefits;

· Hiring of Daniel Snyder, guidance counselor, Northampton Area Middle School, effective Jan. 16, 2015, for the second semester of the 2014-15 school year, at a salary of $49,198, prorated, without benefits;

· Hiring of Candy Rosenbauer, reading specialist, Northampton Area Middle School, effective Aug. 18, for the 2014-15 school year, at a salary of $49,198, with benefits;

· Hiring of Andrew Snyder, science teacher, Northampton Area Middle School, effective Aug. 18, for the 2014-15 school year, at a salary of $46,050, with benefits;

· Half-year sabbatical for Kristin Chevez, for professional development, for the second semester of the 2014-15 school year; and

· Voluntary transfer of Gary Bachman from middle-shift custodian at Siegfried Elementary School to middle-shift custodian at Lehigh Elementary School, effective on or about July 29.
