Judith W. Vanek, 88, formerly of Whitehall Township, died peacefully Aug. 8, 2014, in Cedarbrook.

The widow of John J. Vanek since 1974, she was born in Allentown to the late Arlington E. and Naomi (Guth) Lloyd.

She was a member of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Catholic Church, Whitehall.

A 1943 graduate of Allentown Central Catholic High School, she enjoyed her membership in the Whitehall Women's Club, and was a longtime committeewoman in Whitehall.

Her survivors include a daughter Cheryl A. Hixson and her husband, Boyd G., of North Whitehall Township; grandson Jonathan and his wife, Jill; two great-grandchildren; brother Douglas Lloyd and his wife, Jacqueline (Timmer), of North Whitehall Township.

Contributions may be made to St. Elizabeth Regional School, 433 Pershing Blvd., Whitehall PA 18052.
