Joan Frances Mateyak, 78, of Allentown died Aug. 3, 2014, in the Health Care Center at Luther Crest, South Whitehall Township.

She was the widow of John G. Mateyak.

Born in Coaldale, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Frances (Chaballa) Kalinak.

A 1953 graduate of Coaldale High School, she was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, Orefield.

She was a devoted wife and mother who treasured her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her family was her life.

Her survivors include daughters Joan, wife of Charles Takacs of Orefield, Barbara, wife of Keith DelPrete, of Coopersburg; sons John and his wife, Diana, of Atlanta, Ga., Kenneth and his wife, Gayle, of Andreas; brother Michael Kalinak and his wife, Michelle, of Whitehall; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Arrangements were made by J.S. Burkholder Funeral Home, Allentown.
