Businesses cited
for false alarms
Upper Macungie police say the following businesses had excessive false alarms: Home Depot, 861 Nestlé Way, Breinigsville, 3:47 a.m. July 17; Firefly Store Solutions, 8250 Industrial Blvd., Brein-igsville, 5:10 p.m. July 11; and Andesa Services Inc., 6575 Snowdrift Road at 8:45 a.m. July 5.
All three were cited for having four or more false burglar alarms within the past 12 months.
Hit-and-run accident
injures man's arms
Police say Eric Stalb, 36, of Allentown, was driving a Ford Excursion when it was struck by a white box truck in a hit-and-run 8:36 p.m. July 23 at the railroad overpass on Schantz Road.
The driver did not stop, police say.
Shrapnel from the mirror hit Stalb, injuring both his arms.

Crash causes
power outage
Police say Patrick Taylor Jr., 18, of Allentown, apparently lost control of his vehicle and knocked down a utility pole just after 5 a.m. July 24 in the 1000 block of Ziegels Church Road. Several homes in the area lost power and Ziegels Church Road was closed for several hours while the pole was cleared.
Driver arrested for
suspicion of DUI
Police allege James Baker, 50, of Breinigsville, was driving under the influence at 10:05 p.m. July 24 on Route 100 near Industrial Boulevard.
Police say he allegedly showed signs of impairment during a traffic stop and was placed under arrest for suspicion of DUI. Charges before District Judge Michael Faulkner will follow results of his blood test.
Tools stolen
from basement
Police say a basement door was pried open and tools were taken from inside a home in the 6500 block of W. Tilghman St., during a burglary between July 27-29.

Packages taken from front porch
Police say two packages were stolen 3 p.m. July 25 from the front porch and mailbox at the home of Michael Teloniatis, in the 8300 block of Scenic View Drive, Breinigsville.
Men cited for
public drunkenness
Police say Cornelius Harrison IV, 26, of Allentown, and Sameer Kapoor, 26, of Fogelsville, were cited for public drunkenness 1:30 a.m. July 19 during a disturbance at the Fogelsville Hotel, 7921 Main St., Fogelsville.
Police alleged the two were under the influence of alcohol to a degree which rendered them a danger to themselves or others. Both men were released to a sober third party.
