New officers appointed

Rose Correll is the new president of the Northampton Exchange Club, succeeding John McKenzie who held the position for the 2013-14 term.

Stanley Garrison, Exchange Club's District 5 director, installed the new officers at a program held recently at the Northampton Memorial Community Center.

In addition to Correll, the slate of officers seated include Robin Lutz, recording secretary; Gary Stoudt, treasurer; Linda McKenzie, financial secretary; and Linda McKenzie, chaplain.

Board members for 2014-15 year are Paul Gieske, Jack Harhart, Sarah Schaffer and Lisa Veiszlemlein. Board members for 2014-16 term include Dr. Rodger Berg, Robert Correll, Tammy Kleintop and Wade Rundle.

In other business, the pink flamingos fundraiser continues through the summer. The project benefits abused children.

The group of flamingos have been on lawns across the town. The resident has the option of donating $25 to the club for the removal of the flamingos or donating $15 to have the plastic pink flamingos moved to a yard designated by the resident.

The club at its meeting last week reviewed the Community Days it held at the Municipal Park, concluding with a fireworks show.

Officers and members said Community Days will return in 2015, with tweaking of the festival to occur in some areas.
