Ida E. Unger, 83, of Fullerton, Whitehall Township, died peacefully July 30, 2014, in St. Luke's Hospital, Fountain Hill.
Married Aug. 1, 1953, she and her late husband, John S. Unger Jr. shared 53 wonderful years together at the time of his death on March 23, 2007.
Born in Summit Hill, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Frances Olmi.
She was a member of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Catholic Church, Whitehall.
A 1952 graduate of the Sacred Heart Hospital School of Nursing, Allentown, she was a registered nurse at Allentown State Hospital for more than 30 years before retiring in 1984.
She continued her dedication as a longtime volunteer for the American Red Cross, and past board member of the Whitehall chapter of AARP.
Her survivors include daughters Linda Sartain and husband, James, of Darnestown, Md. and Patricia M. Kahler of Allentown; grandchildren Jeremy, Katherine, Cole, Jarrod and Emily; great granddaughters Hannah, Julianna and Sadie; and sister Blanche Herring and her husband, Charles of Lake Hauto.
She was predeceased her sister Esther Chamberlain.
