Benjamin F. Dietrich

Benjamin F. "Benjie" Dietrich, 80, of Kempton, died July 25, 2014, in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township.

He and his wife Marie A. ((Balliet) Dietrich celebrated their 55th wedding aniversary last August .

Born on the family farm in Lynn Township, he was a son of the late Norman H. and Annie M. (Dannenhower) Dietrich.

He was a milk hauler for Freeman's Dairy for 29 years and later as a bus driver for Carl Bieber Tourways, Kutztown, until retiring in 1999.

He also helped on the family farm, which is now covered by Leaser Lake.

He was of the Lutheran faith.

A 1952 graduate of Slatington High School, he was a member of Lynn-port Fire Company and the Albany Township Historical Society.

He won awards at the FFA National Convention in Kansas City, Mo., in 1950.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Audrey J., wife of Michael Marich; sons Dennis B. and wife Mary Jean and Randy L. and wife Karen, all of Kempton; and grandchildren Casey, Benjamin, Austin, Julie, Haley and Jonathan.

He was predeceased by his sister Miriam Klingaman.
