WESTERN SALISBURY COLUMN Laptop distribution begins

Students will be happy to hear the time has arrived for laptops to be distributed for the 2014-2015 school year.

Any new students to Salisbury School District in grades six through 12 and all sixth graders will be able to pick up their laptops at Salisbury Middle School noon to 1:30 p.m. Aug. 15 during new student orientation. Returning seventh and eighth graders can pick up their laptops between noon and 3 p.m. Aug. 14 at SMS.

Students returning to Salisbury High School will have two pick-up days, with distribution taking place in the old gym.

Students with a last name starting with A-L can pick up their laptop noon to 3 p.m. Aug. 11. Those with a last name starting with M-Z can pick up noon to 3 p.m. Aug. 12.

In order to receive your laptop, you must bring Form A and the insurance premium to the distribution site.

If you have any outstanding computer debts, get them settled as soon as possible. If you have any questions, call either the high school office at 610-797-4107 or middle school at 610-791-0830.

The required forms can be found at www.tl2020.org under the heading "Laptop Distribution."

Fall athletic practices are set to begin Aug 11.

Western Salisbury Elementary School is holding a New Family Welcome 9:30 to 11 a.m. Aug 12. If you are new to the district and have a student attending WSE, this orientation is a great way to meet the staff and get a tour of the building.

This is also a reminder to those families taking part in the St. Luke Hospital's challenge to "get out and get active" to keep tracking the miles they are walking, biking and running. Use the log you received in June or download a copy from the school website. As a school, WSE is trying to log 5,000 miles by the end of October.

A school board meeting will be held 7:30 p.m. Aug 13 in the administration building.

The Devonshire yard waste drop off will be open 8 am. to 1 pm. Aug. 16 and 19.
