Joyce A. Bowers, 86, of Salisbury Township, died peacefully Aug. 3, 2014, in the Inpatient Hospice Unit at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Allentown surrounded, by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Richard T. Bowers who died May 25, 2014. Born in Allentown, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Mary (Nester) Clauser.

She was a sewing machine operator at Sondra Manufacturing, Allentown, for many years, retiring in 1984. She served as a union representative of the Garment Union.

She was a member of Trinity Memorial Lutheran Church, Allentown and the Friedensville Rod and Gun Club.

She is survived by daughters, Mary Butz, Linda and her husband George Raad, Jeanne and her husband Leroy Halleman, and Dianne and her husband Joel Vasquez; brother, Wilbur Clauser; sisters, Grace Arnold and Frances Berkenstock; 17 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son Richard Jr. and a daughter Rosemarie Higgins.

Services 10:30 a.m. Aug. 8, at the K.V. Knopp Funeral Home, 46 E. Susquehanna St., Allentown. A viewing for family and friends will be held 9:30 a.m. until the time of service in the funeral home.
