We enjoyed an awesome week at Camp Jefferson!
Week four was bursting with lots of laughs and sunshine. Monday was filled with an intense game of dodge ball, which is always a crowd favorite. The campers also enjoyed a few rounds of capture the flag, pillow polo and a huge game of kickball before heading off to the Jefferson pool. Tuesday we hopped on the bus to Dutch Springs. The day was filled with lots of climbing, jumping and swimming. Along with the occasional wind getting knocked out of at least me, all this exercise made Wednesday morning a little tiring.
Our sore campers enjoyed a few relaxed games including sleepy lions, knockout and manhunt. After lunch, my favorite time of the day, our campers were given free time to play on the playground. This usually turns into a massive game of four-square or basketball.
Thursday our campers participated in our weekly craft, scratch art. The first step was to color a blank sheet of paper until there was no trace of white left. Then the counselors painted over the works of art with black paint. Once the paint dried, the campers scratched it off in a nifty design to show the bright colors underneath. Our craft took two days to complete because of the use of paint.
Fastest in the west, cops and robbers, and a couple games of basketball were also played throughout the week.
As Friday rolled around our campers strolled in with their favorite animal print in honor of the theme of the week. We had many different creatures trotting through the playground that morning.
With week four coming to a close we announced Camp J-Street's campers of the week: Atiyah K and Kyle P. Hope to see everyone next week!
