Eileen C. Ryan, 58, of Reading, died July 19, 2014, in Hillsdale, N.J.

Born in Allentown, she was a daughter of the late Edward L. and Catherine E. Ryan of Whitehall.

She was a graduate of Central Catholic High School, Allentown. She earned her nursing credentials at Lancaster General Hospital, Lancaster; and from Lehigh Community College, Allentown.

A licensed practical nurse for more than 30 years, she worked at Holy Family Manor, Bethlehem, then became a medical-surgical, charge and private-duty nurse at several facilities including Sacred Heart Hospital and Osteopathic Medical Center, both in Allentown. She most recently worked at Kenhorst Family Medical Center, Kenhorst, for more than 10 years.

She is survived by two brothers, Edward L. Ryan Jr. of Tucson, Ariz. and Patrick Ryan and his wife Leigh Ann Dougherty of Allentown; five sisters, Kathleen and her husband Frank Bodisch of Whitehall, Margaret Ryan of Allentown, Mary Elizabeth Pfaff and her fiance John O'Regan of Lancaster, Grace Ann and her husband Dale Smith of Allentown, and Josephine and her husband Robert Celantano of Hillside, N.J.; 13 nephews; six nieces; and 14 grandnephews and grandnieces.
