malfunctions
A malfunction with the fire alarm in the basement at Columbia House, South Second Street, on July 23 brought out police and the fire department.
The firefighters handled the situation, police said.
Theft reported
Coplay police reported the theft of aluminum rain spouts from a property in the unit block of North Third Street July 27.
The property owner told police he had two lengths of the rain spouting next to his garage. Police said a neighbor observed a white minivan behind the garage, and saw a man, white and in his 30s, along with a younger man, load the rain spout into the van. A woman also was in the van, which drove off with the spouting, police said.
Police reported they are looking for the white minivan and its driver.
Motor vehicle crash reported
Police were dispatched to the scene of a motor vehicle crash in the 100 block of North Second Street on July 23.
A 17-year-old Whitehall girl was operating a 2002 Oldsmobile south on North Second Street when a tire blew out on the car. Her car then struck a parked 2015 Toyota owned by Darlene Kies of Easton, police said.
Vehicles collide
Police responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash July 22 in the 100 block of South Second Street.
Jacqueline Serafino, of Palmerton, was operating a 2003 vehicle when, she told police, the car "just quit." It struck a parked Dodge owned by Ronnie Herringer of Coplay, police said.
