Joyce L. Bortz, 89, of Emmaus, died July 1, 2014, in Lehigh Valley Hospital. She was the wife of the late Elden W. Bortz. Born in Emmaus, she was the daughter of the late Oscar R. and H. Arline (Wenner) Hamsher.

She was a homemaker and former member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.

She is survived by sons, Barry F. and his wife Barbara, of Oviedo, Fla., Brian J. and his wife Brigitte, of Bethlehem, and Gregg W. and his wife Jodi, of Chestertown, Md.; daughters, Susan K. wife of Larry Leith, of Murrells Inlet, S.C., Andrea L., of Bethlehem, Audrey R. wife of Clyde Nelson, of Clark, Colo., and Robin J. Haydt, of Lansdale; son-in-law, Robert Davey, of New Freedom; sister, Jeannine Stahl, of Emmaus; 18 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a daughter, Diane M. Davey.
