Entrance at Salisbury Middle School under construction
For the next few weeks, the main entrance of Salisbury Middle School will be closed due to construction.
Those working at the school and sports coaches need to enter the building from the cafeteria side of the building and must use their security cards. Those wishing to visit the school are to call the school at 610-791-0830 to plan a time of entrance.
There were no zoning appeals submitted for the Aug. 5 zoning hearing board meeting. Due to the absence of appeals, no meeting is scheduled.
The Salisbury Township School District operations committee will meet 7 p.m. Aug. 4 at the administration building.
A regular school board meeting is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Aug. 13 at the administration building.
The Harry S Truman Elementary School PTO is hosting a back-to-school dinner 6 p.m. Sept 19.
The chosen theme for the upcoming school year at HST is "Leadership is not a spectator sport - Get in the game." Student Quinn Wittman won the design contest. Congratulations, Quinn!
ImPACT testing is required for fall middle school and high school sports athletes who have never played a sport in the Salisbury Township School District. Testing includes football, field hockey, cross country, soccer and cheerleading. It is also needed for all upcoming seventh, eighth and ninth graders intending to play a fall sport. The test is also required for high school fall sports athletes who have not taken a new baseline test within the last two years. Salisbury athletes must have a baseline test completed every year at the middle school and every two years at the high school.
Salisbury High School is holding ImPACT testing 5 and 5:30 p.m. Aug 5 and 5:30 and 6 p.m. Aug. 7. For more information, refer to the ImPACT flyer posted on the district website at www.stsd.org.
For the testing, students must enter at the teachers' lot, side of the SHS and use door number 15.
Testing will be held in SHS computer lab in Room 005 and is slated to last for 30 minutes.
Those taking the test need to arrive on time. The room will not be accessible after the testing has begun.
School athletes are required to have completed a current, baseline test in order to start practice in the fall.

Franco Farm yard waste drop-off hours are 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Aug. 9 and 12.
The Tractor Supply Company, 7150 Hamilton Blvd., Trexlertown, is hosting a low-cost vaccination clinic for cats and dogs, 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Aug 3. A free examination will be given with vaccine purchase. Pet microchips will be available; however, owners need to preregister for microchip service. Lehigh Valley Zoo still has camp openings available for August. Camps run 9 a.m. to noon for children ages four and five and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for children ages six through 14. Kid campers will experience animal encounters, keeper talks, educational presentations, games and nature crafts. Children receive a snack, camp T-shirt and certificate of participation. Those signing up for full-day camps need to bring their lunch.
