Keith Urban, Weezer, Jason Derulo, The Moody Blues, Sam Hunt, Postmodern Jukebox and Southern Hospitality are among the 300-plus music acts that will take the stage when Musikfest celebrates its 31st year Aug. 1 - 10 in Bethlehem.
Musikfest, said to be the largest free music festival in the United States, will showcase more than 500 performances during its 10-day run, with free concerts on 13 of 14 stages.
Musikfest 2014 headlining performances at the festival's Steel Stage, which is the only paid-ticket venue, include: The All-American Rejects, Aug. 2; Jason Derulo, Aug. 3; Sheryl Crow, Aug. 4; The Moody Blues, Aug. 5; Steely Dan, Aug. 6; The Avett Brothers, Aug. 7; Alan Jackson, Aug. 8; Weezer, Aug. 9, and Keith Urban, Aug. 10.
Musiklfest free concert highlights include:
Country singer-songwriter Sam Hunt, Aug. 3, Americaplatz. Hunt has co-written hits such as Keith Urban's "Cop Car" and Kenny Chesney's "Come Over." He has released popular singles such as "Raised on It" and "Leave the Night On."
Postmodern Jukebox, led by jazz pianist Scott Bradlee, performs Aug. 9, Americaplatz. The dynamic ensemble is known for taking songs by Lady Gaga, Carly Rae Jepsen and Madonna and transforming them into vintage jazz, swing and doo-wop tunes. The group's take on Lorde's "Royals," featuring Puddles Pity Party, has received more than 7.5 million views on YouTube. Puddles, the "Sad Clown with the Golden Voice," performs Aug. 8 in Musikfest Café.
Rick Vito, former member of Fleetwood Mac, performs an electrifying blend of rock, world and blues music, as King Paris, Aug. 2, Volksplatz.
