Sebastien C. (Bot) Gemmel, 94, of Nazareth and formerly of Catasauqua, died July 8, 2014, at Gracedale Nursing Home, Nazareth. He was the husband of the late Helen J. (Krcelich) Gemmel.

Born in Catasauqua, he was a son of the late George and Mary (Kartje) Gemmel.

He worked for various construction companies. He was a boiler tender for the Old Dutch Brewer, Catasauqua; and Horlacher Brewery, Allentown. He tended bar in Allentown, Bethlehem and Catasauqua. He was a part-time policeman for the Borough of North Catasauqua. He retired as a custodian for the Catasauqua Area School District. He then worked for Newark Dressmaker Supply, Bethlehem.

He is survived by five children, George and his wife Judy, Edward and his wife Beverly, Robert and his wife Cheryl, Richard and his wife Deborah and John and his wife Deborah; 12 grandchildren, Tami and her husband Timothy Cunningham, Sherry and her husband Christopher Todd Martinek, Lisa and her husband Dr. William Lackey Jr., Tina and her husband Dr. Andrew Coyle, Rebecca and her husband Jeffrey Sternberg, Stephanie and her husband Thomas Falzone, Richelle and her husband Daniel Korytoski, Jessica and her husband Andre Alford, Nicole and her husband Jason Hardgree, Tara and her husband Stephen Suhovsky, and Ryan and Derek Gemmel; and 19 great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by nine sisters, Helen Gemmel, Magdalene James, Catherine McQuillen, Rose Winkler, Mary Kuhar, Jean Schunk, Elizabeth Williams, Anna Sharkazy and June Hassler; and three brothers, John, George and Joseph.
