William J. Paulik

William J. Paulik, 83, of Salisbury Township, died July 18, 2014, at St. Luke's Hospital, Allentown. He was the husband of JoAnne (Rapp) Paulik for the past 55 years. Born in Fountain Hill, he was a son of the late Anthony and Madeline (Kozauer) Paulik.

He was a Pennsylvania teacher from 1957-1962 at Susquenita and Fountain Hill high schools. He taught at Salisbury High School for 30 years and served as the athletic director, basketball coach and township recreation director. As a basketball coach, he had 539 wins. He was inducted into the Lehigh Valley Basketball Hall of Fame and the Lehigh Valley Sports Hall of Fame.

He served in the United States Army as a sergeant during the Korean Conflict.

He was a member of the American Legion.

He was a graduate of East Stroudsburg University in 1956 and earned his master's degree from Lehigh University in 1961.

He was a member of the Southside Boosters and the Golden Hillers.

He was a member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church, Allentown.

He is survived by his wife; children, Susan and her husband Mike Arnold, of Coopersburg and their children, Kristin, Katelyn and Madeline; Kathy and her husband Scott Ramson, of Coopersburg and their children, Amy and Marc; William Jr., of Sinking Spring and his children, Anne and John and Michael and his wife Valerie, of Salisbury Township and their children, Emily and Addison; sister, Eleanor Miller, of Salisbury Township; brother, Edward, of Salisbury Township.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. July 23 at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 1040 Flexer Ave., Allentown. A viewing will take place 10 to 11 a.m. at the church.
