Larry R. Mugridge, 74, of Mac-ungie, died July 17, 2014, in the In-Patient Hospice Unit of Lehigh Valley Hospital, Allentown. He was the son of Glenn and Evelyn (Kubehl) Mugridge of Waupun, Wis.

He attended Wartburg College in Waverly, Wisconsin, graduating in 1962 and continued his education at Lehigh University receiving a M.S. and Ph.D. in mathematics. He taught at Lafayette College for two years then was a professor of mathematics at Kutztown University for 39 years, retiring in 2011.

He enjoyed playing tennis and served as the tennis pro at Lehigh Country Club in the 1970's. He also had an active interest in music.

He authored several college level mathematics textbooks.

He is survived by a daughter Lyn and her husband Matthew McQuaid; grandchildren, Logan and Ashlyn Phy, of Macungie; son, Jason and his wife Jennifer and grandchildren, Soren, Ezra and Elsie, of Bern, Switzerland; sisters, Linda and her husband Tom Maik, of San Antonio, Texas, Marilyn Claggett, of Appleton, Wis.

Services are private. Arrangements were made by the Stephens Funeral Home, Inc., Allentown.
