Camp Jefferson enjoys the 70s

This week at Camp Jefferson the theme was the 70s.

All the kids and counselors alike had a great time this week playing games in the park and swimming at the Jefferson pool. Four-square as always is the game of choice for the kids but this week we also played handball, manhunt, dodge ball, knockout and basketball at the Jefferson Street basketball courts.

On Wednesday we did our craft which was tie dying shirts in honor of 70s week. Since our field trip was on Friday this week the kids all wore their tie dye on Thursday and to say the least it was very colorful.

At the start of the week the kids enjoyed playing on the playground and participating in a few games. Luckily we had nice enough weather this week and the rain held out for us while we were at camp. On Monday we had a handball tournament. We broke the kids up into four teams and they played against each other. The counselors along with the campers had a good time playing handball.

This week's field trip was on Friday to the local Skateaway. All the kids had a great time going around the rink with the lights flashing and music playing. Even though we had a few tumbles mostly everyone enjoyed the trip.

While we were there we played four corners, limbo and some kids were even playing tag. The counselors got to reminisce a little bit since none of us have been there since we were campers. Overall everyone had and great time.

After Skateaway on Friday the Campers of the Week were crowned. This week's titles went to Erin and Dario who were excellent this week. It was beautiful all week so all the kids enjoyed playing outside and getting to cool off at the pool!
