Francis (Penny) W. Jacob, 94, of Macungie, died July 11, 2014, in his home. He was the husband of the late Evelyn A. (Butz) Jacob. Born in East Greenville, he was a son of the late Frank and Annie (Brey) Jacob.
Before retiring in 1982, he worked as a lineman for Exide Battery, Allentown and prior at East Penn Foundry, Macungie.
He was a dedicated member of Calvary U.C.C., Barto, where he was active with many committees.
During World War II, he served in the U.S. Army.
He was a lifetime member of Macungie Fire Co. #1 and the Macungie VFW.
He enjoyed watching the Phillies and Yankees, golfing, fishing, hunting, and auto racing.
He is survived by a son Dennis D. and his wife Karen, of Emmaus; sister, Florence; grandchildren, Larry Jr., Ron, Kimmie, Ryan; six great- grandchildren. He was predeceased by a son Larry Sr., daughter, Marlene, granddaughter, Linda; six siblings; nine-year companion Lucy Reigner.

Services will be held 10:30 a.m. July 17 at Calvary U.C.C., 1231 Route 100, Barto. Calling will begin 9:30 a.m. Arrangements were made by the Schmoyer Funeral Home, Breinigsville.
