LEHIGH VALLEY WEATHER

Student profile: Mary Cotturo, Bethlehem Catholic HS

Grade: Graduated senior

Family members: I live with my mom, Hope, my dad, Chris, and my dog, Rosie.

Favorite subject: My favorite subjects are math and chemistry. I like the problem-solving involved with both subjects.

Activities: I was one of the captains of the cheerleading team. I also was a member of the FACT Club, Key Club and National Honor Society.

Next steps: I plan to go to a medium sized college and major in biochemistry.

Career goals: My career goal is to become a pediatrician. I would love to be able to help children for a living.

Heroes: My greatest hero would have to be my grammy. Although she has Parkinson's, she does not let that bring her down. She is one of the sweetest people I know and is truly my inspiration.

Hobbies: Besides cheerleading I also go to tumbling classes one-two times a week to improve my skills. Some of my other Hobbies are reading a good book or hanging out with my friends.

Volunteer/community work: Last summer, seven girls from my class, including myself, spent a few days in Philadelphia doing various service projects. It was an eye-opening experience that I will never forget.

Likes: I love meeting new people and getting to learn new things about my friends. When you know more about someone, you begin to grow closer with that person.

Dislikes: I cannot stand when my friends are sad. It happens to everyone, but it breaks my heart.

Greatest accomplishment (so far): One of my greatest accomplishments was placing first at the Pennsylvania Junior Academy of Science Fair at Penn State.

Advice for peers: My advice for my peers is to first enjoy what you do. That is the first step toward success.
