Shirley W. Geist. 96, of Whitehall, died June 27, 2014, at the home of her daughter in Whitehall. She was the wife of the late Frank Geist.

Born in Coplay, she was a daughter of the late Joshua and Bessie (Bennett) Mortimer.

She was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ, Coplay.

She was a member of the Parkland Art League for many years.

She is survived by a daughter, Sandra and her husband Harlan Kunkel of Whitehall; two brothers, Joshua Mortimer of Walnutport and Richard Mortimer of Coplay; a sister, Dorothy Slider of Palm Bay, Fla.; two grandchildren, James and his wife Jennifer Kunkel of Coplay and Richard Kunkel of Whitehall; and one great-grandson, Owen Kunkel.
