Michael L. Ripic

Michael L. Ripic, 83, of Schnecksville, died July 2, 2014, in his home.

He was the husband of Bogumila S. (Chojnacki) Ripic of Poland and the late Olga E. (Bailey) Ripic.

Born May 1, 1931, in Endicott, Brook County, N.Y., he was the son of the late Michael and Anna (Opalenek) Ripic.

He faithfully and honorably served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War era achieving the rank of corporal.

His education accomplishments include a Bachelor of Science degree in elementary education from Moravian College in 1958, a Master of Science degree in elementary education in 1961 from Temple University and post-graduate work at Lehigh University in 1967.

He was a sixth-grade school teacher in the Bethlehem School District from 1958-93.

Prior to that, he attended the Belleview Hospital School of Nursing in New York from 1950-52.

He was a life member of the NRA, Allen O. Delke American Legion Post 16, Slatington, and the former Vernon G. Kern VFW Post 8344, Schnecksville.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Richard M. at home; sister Carol Ripic of New York; stepdaughter Aneta Wyso-czanska and her husband, Stanley, of Poland; and granddaughters Marta and Weronika.
